On December 29, 2017 and January 3, 2018, our Hartnell Panthers faced three other colleges in which they won 2 out of the 3 games played. On December 29th, the Panthers fell to Foothill College 78-62 but bounced back the next day when they took Reedley College on the road with a final score of 82-74. The Panthers returned home on January 3rd to close out a tight overtime game against Cabrillo College, during which Hartnell prevailed 62-60. With this excellence of play, Hartnell's overall record improved to (9-6) for the season and still (1-0) in conference. Under Head Coach Andrew Vasher, the team has an average of 65 points per game, largely thanks to the ability within the players to move the ball around and holding a season average of 18 assists. The Panthers have taken advantage of the opportunities they are given with a 46.8% field goal percentage and 34% from beyond the arc. The season has reached a crucial stretch as there are only 11 games left in the season and all conference games will hold huge power in deciding the Panthers’ playoff hopes. Hartnell looks to run in all gears as they take on San Jose City College on the road January 10th @7:00 p.m., before returning home January 12th to take on West Valley College @7:00 p.m.
