Freshman Year: Jacob earned All-Coast Conference honors for his 13th place finish at the Coast Conference Championship were he posted a Toro Park four mile best of 22:12. Jacob placed inside the top seven for the Panthers in several meets but was slowed down by a mid-season injury.
Freshman Track Season: Jacob joined the Panthers in the spring and quickly improved his lifetime bests to 4:09, 9:29, and 16:28. A Norcal Championship qualifier at 1500 meters, Jacob will be one of the top returners at that distance in Spring 2018.
Prior to Hartnell: Like his Aptos HS teammate Patrick Olson, Jacob joined the Panthers mid-year after one season off from competition. At Aptos HS, he was a member of the CCS cross country champion team. He brings personal bests of 2:01 and 4:30 from high school.
"This is Jacob's final semester and season with the Panthers and were hoping to put all his previous experiences to use and produce his best season outright. He was given a summer assignment and so far it is showing with improved fitness and strength. Jacob is extremely efficient and if he can get 90 days of consistent training he's going to find himself right in the mix at the Northern California and CCCAA Championship. Every day healthy is one more day closer to that goal."
