Panther Women Enjoy Beat the Heat Win

The theme for the 2017 season for the Hartnell College women's cross country team is teamwork. In their first competition of the year at the Beat the Heat in Eureka, CA, they proved they are moving in the right direction. Lead by sophomore duo Leslie Oseguera and Yvette Tavarez  who finished 3rd and 4th overall and separated by one second, the Lady Panthers placed five runners within the top 7 overall. More impressively, they did it within 35 seconds even with the addition to the course appropriately named "the Wall" in the final mile.

The Lady Panthers will look to take this improved teamwork to the Fresno Invitational on September 9th and improve upon their sixth place finish in 2016. With a balanced mix of freshmen and sophomores in this year's squad, the team is excited for their championship potential.
