Maria Aceves
Year: So.
High School: Notre Dame (Salinas)

Freshman Year: Maria enjoyed a solid freshman campaign earning the Coast Conference runner-up honor along with All-Northern California honors for her sixth place finish. Her sixth place pushed the Lady Panthers to lowest regional team score in college history with just 41 points to place second to College of the Sequoias. Maria placed 64th at her first CCCAA State Championship to help the team to a ninth place finish.

Prior to Hartnell: Maria was a member of the 2016 Notre Dame girls team which qualified to the CIF State Championship. She covered the Woodward Park course in 20:44 in her final season for the Spirits. Maria enjoyed a great final track season lowering her personal bests at 800m to 2:32 and 1600m to 5:31. Over her four years of track, Maria broke 13:00 in 3200m every year with her 12:36 personal best coming in her final year.

"Maria really focused on efforts this summer on starting much further along the championship spectrum. Last summer she struggled to complete workouts and now is helping lead runs and workouts. Already having been to two state championships, Maria has shown the compose it takes to become one of the best harriers in the state. Maria has a lot to run for and it will surely push her to an amazing final fall for the Lady Panthers."
