Student-Athlete Spotlight: Zach Foster

This week’s student-athlete spotlight goes to Zach Foster, a sophomore and Hartnell’s 3rd basemen, proudly wearing the #16 jersey. Foster grew up in Salinas and played baseball at North Salinas High School all four years. He is majoring in Communication Studies and is planning to transfer to San Francisco State University; if given the chance, he will continue his baseball career. As of February 28, 2017, Zach has started 13 games, stolen 2 bases, hit a home run, and has a batting average of .297! “I just stuck with it and didn’t give up,” Zach declares, when asked how he manages his student responsibilities along with being an athlete. We admire and are proud to have student-athletes with such determination for their academic and athletic careers. Zach was nominated by Baseball Head Coach, Travis Babin who believes Zach has a strong career ahead of him.
