The Hartnell Baseball Team Wins Two

On February 28, 2017, the Hartnell College Men's Baseball Team hosted Laney College for their 11th home game of the season. Outfielder Kacee Takasaki, second baseman Colby Hirano, and third baseman Zach Foster had strong performances. Hartnell took the lead by the bottom of the first inning with a score of 2-1. During the second and third inning, both teams created a challenge for one another. At the bottom of the sixth inning the score was tied 6-6. It was at the seventh inning when the Panthers took the lead with 12-7, but Laney started to catch up in the beginning of the eighth inning and scored 3 more runs. Luckily, for Hartnell, student-athlete Paul Moon had been able to stall the opposing team from obtaining more runs with strong pitching. The players did not disappoint their fans in the stands; they brought home a 12-10 victory. The Panthers won over Taft on February 25, with a score of 7-3. The Hartnell College Men's Baseball Team will play another home game on Saturday, March 4, 2017 against Chabot College. Go Panthers!
