Men's T & F return from Turlock with several top state performances
The Hartnell College men’s and women’s track & field team traveled to Turlock for their second four year university meet
The Hartnell College men's and women's track & field team traveled to Turlock for their second four year university meet of the 2026 season and returned with several top regional and state ranked performances. The meet was contested by twelve college or university teams along with club and unattached athletes.
Sophomore Adrian Manriquez showed he will be a contender for the Coast Conference 400mIH title and could advance to the 3C2A State Championship after a 2.2 second improvement to 55.20 to place third overall. The mark jumps Manriquez to third statewide and easily surpassed the State "A" mark as well. Manriquez also led off on the 4x400 relay team that posted a State "B" and season best 3:25.28. The team was composed of Manriquez, Alex Acevedo, Ulises Hernandez-Aguilar, and Gianni Ponce. The men's 4x100 relay team also posted a season best 42.76. Frosh Diego Avila-Garcia broke 2:00 for the first time in the 800 meters with his conference leading 1:59.66. Giancarlo Mendo became the first sub 4:10 1500 meter runner of the 2026 season for the Panthers with his season best 4:08.29. Frosh Joshua Na led in the shot put (13.10) and discus (42.85). Fellow freshman Nathaniel Aceves Aguilar picked up a State "B" in the triple jump (13.57) and also led in the javelin (42.64).
The Panthers will split squads over the March 13-14 weekend with the majority of the squad heading to the Pat Ryan Invitational at Santa Rosa Junior College on Friday and the distance squad heading south to the Occidental College Spring Break Classic and Distance Carnivalon Saturday.
