Bio

Prior to Hartnell:  Luis was member of a back-to-back MTAL league championship team at Greenfield High School that also represented the school for the first time at the CIF State Championship in both of his final two years. Luis placed fifth overall at the MTAL Championship and 15th overall in his final CCS race. He produced an early season best of 16:33 at Toro Park and holds a 16:34 best over the 5km layout at Woodward Park.

"Luis lead his Bruins at Greenfield and I'm looking for him to grow into that positiona as a Panther. A tough, grinding type of runner, Luis will do well at the community college level with the extra mile allowing him to outlast guys with better track personal bests. He will have a year to learn from some of our fast track guys and that should get him to an outstanding level for his sophomore season. In the meantime, his championship experience will be invaluable come November where he should be one of the top 7 guys looking to help us bring our first state trophy home."
