Bio

Prior to Hartnell: Jose competed for three years in cross country at Alisal High School with his senior year being one with limited opportunities due to the pandemic. He won every race he was given the opportunity to compete in as a senior. As a junior, Jose placed fifth at the PCAL Championship and fourteenth at the CCS Championships.During his first two years, Jose was a two time top 10 league finisher and top 20 CCS finisher in the largest division.

"Jose is a huge talent. I'm really excited to see how he does running with guys that he competed with. Jose has been used to being the team leader and we'll ask him to learn how to run very close to his fellow teammates so the team can do extremely well. During his pandemic cross country/track & field season, Jose was able to nearly get back to his personal best fitness despite having limited chances to compete."
