Women’s Basketball mid-season recap
The Women’s Basketball Team currently sits with an overall record of 3-12(.200) and a conference record of 1-3 (.250) with two wins over Ohlone and De Anza. Although the Lady Panthers have suffered losses, there have been plenty of learning and off court team wins. The team has already improved last year’s team record, as well as an increase in team roster. In addition, key contributors of the team are: Davaughna Thompson, Alexus Andrade, and Dallana Pantoja Perez who have taken a lead in contributing to the team’s progress. With eight freshmen and only two sophomores, the upper class women of this team have stepped up and paved the way for the freshmen on the team. Sophomore Davaaughna Thompson has been averaging 13.4 ppg, 9.2 Reb/g and 66.1 % on FT. Likewise, Freshman Ryoka Takeda has also given a spark for this team with a 29.2% in 3PT and averaging second in PTS/G for Hartnell with 10.1 per game, right behind Thompson. The season is not over yet, giving the Hartnell Panthers more opportunities to amaze fans. As for their last seven games of the season, four will be home games and league games. Do not miss our next home game against our conference rival MPC, January 24, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. - hope to see you all there! Go Panthers!
