On the final weekend of spring break, the Panthers split squads for the cooler weather of San Francisco for the distance runners and warmer inland valley temps for the sprinters and throwers at the Delta Legacy Meet at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.
In the sprints, freshman Ulises Hernandez-Aguilar led in the 100 meters (11.55) and 200 meters (23.49). Ben Miller was tops in the 400 meters (56.34). Freshman Joshua Diaz ran 2:19.81 in the 800 meters with Efrain Martinez-Vega 5:05.06 in the 1500 meters. Sophomore Isaiah Ybarra was consistent in the 400mIH (66.07). Sophomore Sergio Ayala lowered his season best in the 3k steeplechase to 12:42.17. In the field, Nick Maher set a personal best in the shot put (11.34m) with Solo Kalemani with the best Hartnell mark in the discus (35.96m). Aiden Ishimaru was 49.64m in the hammer and 39.62m in the javelin. Jim Bryan Sacayanan had season best in the pole vault (3.15m). Corbin Osborn leaped a personal best in the triple jump (13.57m) with Logan Bayhonan (6.48m) jumping well in the long jump.
For the women, Jenna Emerson prepped for Coast Conference with a sprint triple of 12.88 in the 100 meters, 15.01 in the 100mH, and 25.91 in the 200 meters. Emerson also had a State "B" in the triple jump (10.65m). Belle Caasi moved to fourth best in Norcal in the hammer with lifetime best 38.00m. She also had a season best in the shot put 9.01m. Joceline Carrasco Tafolla was close to 30 meters again in the discus with 29.53m. Miriam Salinas set a personal best in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.27m. Frosh Jacqueline Orellana set a Hartnell personal best of 4.69m in the long jump. Converted volleyball player Queen Royal set a personal best 9.61m in just her third track meet and triple jump competition.
Hartnell College will host the Gary Shaw Last Chance Meet on Friday-Saturday, April 17-18.
