Prior to Hartnell: Competed at Soledad High School where she was a teammate of current Panther Yvette Tavarez. Lauryn qualified to the CCS Championship her final three years with a solid junior performance at Crystal Springs in 20:30. This past spring, she shined on the track lowering the Soledad High School 3200m record to 12:08.29. She was a CCS Trials qualifier in the 3200m as a junior.

"Lauryn could be our next great long distance specialist. Her stride mechanics are efficient and she brings a tough mental attitude toward racing which is great for those 12 and 25 lap races. I've been impressed since July with her work ethic and already she's made her way into the top five for the women's team. She's part of a great freshman class that could really make some noise over two years."
