Bio

Prior to Hartnell: Competed for Gilroy High School where she placed third overall at the MBL Championship as a senior. As a junior, ran 19:54 at Crystal Springs to qualify for the CIF State Championship. At Woodward Park, she ran 20:38 to place 142nd at the state championship. On the track, Monica brings 5:46 and 12:31 personal bests. She was a CCS Trials qualifier in the 3200m as a sophomore.

"Monica is a very strong runner which is evident on hard courses. I'm expecting her to shine on courses like Toro Park and Mt. SAC even as a freshman. She's excited to blaze her own path at Hartnell but has watched the progress she's hoping to enjoy through her sister Maritza's experience with us. She's done a great job preparing for the season starting in the summer so now the fun starts as we begin racing each week."
