At Hartnell College, our healthcare professionals are dedicated to providing top-tier care to our student-athletes with a team of experienced professionals committed to promoting health and wellness. We strive to provide exemplary and comprehensive services in the best interest of protecting and developing the health and well being of every student-athlete.

The Sports Medicine healthcare team at Hartnell is composed of professionals across multiple health care disciplines.The on-campus Athletic Trainers oversee and manage athletically related injuries for the student-athletes and are involved in the facilitation and management of healthcare for athletically related injuries beyond Hartnell College if need be. Our team utilizes local healthcare facilities and services in Monterey County to best facilitate ongoing care for our student-athletes.

The Athletic Trainers are involved in the day-to-day prevention and reduction of risk of injury for the student-athletes and work with the coaches and student-athletes alike to ensure that their training and development best minimizes their risk of injury while optimizing their overall performance. In-house resources allow the student-athletes to seek immediate care for their injuries from the athletic trainers by utilizing therapeutic rehabilitation and manual therapy techniques. They can seek out the Athletic Trainers if they suspect an injury or have questions about managing a past or ongoing injury. Student-athletes may also seek out the Athletic Trainers if they are curious about self-management strategies regarding their general health or want to continue with their maintenance and recovery.

Our main clinic has access to resources such as electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, ice and heat modalities, and whirlpool therapy. Self-care resources, such as foam rollers, stretching straps, and other recovery devices are available for use and appropriate education.
