Bio

Freshman Year: Jesus nearly missed the entire season due to injury but rallied the last three meets to end with a top 100 performance at the CCCAA State Championship. He competed in just three meets but got progressively faster each run. Jesus was 13th at the Coast Conference Championship to earn all-conference. His run in the overflow non-official race brought opportunity to run at state where he would finish as the third Panther in 22:00. In the spring, Jesus was the conference and regional 10,000m champion and earn his first All-American honor running 31:52 at the State Championship. He was also a finalist at Norcals in the 5000m placing sixth. Jesus posted solid first year bests of 2:04, 4:05, 15:32 and 31:52 after a year off of running after high school.

Prior to Hartnell: Jesus was a member of the King City High School team who advanced to the CIF State Championship and placed 2nd overall as a team. He was a top 10 overall finisher at the Mission Trail Athletic League Championship two years in a row. Jesus was also a two-time top 14 finisher at the CCS Championship.

"Jesus has grown into our team leader which we were missing last season. He leads daily by action and words. He enjoyed a great track season that has him primed for an All-American run this fall. He will be our next surprise for sure. He has great championship experience having been on a 2nd place team in high school and last year seeing what it takes to excel at our level. I'm confident he will lead us back into the top 5 at state. All the guys need to do is follow his daily lead and on race day trust his leadership and pacing."
