Freshman Year: Competed in all but the Chabot Invitational for the Panthers. Earned all-conference placing fourteenth at the Coast Conference Championship. Earned a spot on the seventh place state championship team. Finished 102nd overall in his first community college state champinship.

Prior to Hartnell: Danny competed in two seasons of track & field and one of cross country at King City High School. As a senior, he was 18th at the PCAL Championship and 19th at the CCS Championship. His 16:39 5k performance at the CIF Championship helped the Mustangs to a fourth place team finish. On the track, Danny was a CCS qualifier as a senior in the 1600m and a double qualifier at 1600/3200 to the PCAL Championship.

"Danny continues to impress with what he can do with less preparation than his teammates. During the fall with a little over a month of consistent training he ran a road 4 mile and 5000m time trial personal best. He is still the least prepared in terms of total training compared to those contending for a top seven spot. All Danny needs is regularly weekly consistency and he can become an all-region and maybe even all-american this fall."
