Bio

Prior to Hartnell: Competed in three years of cross country for King City High School where he was fourth overall twice in the Pacific Coast Athletic League Championship race and sixth in the old Mission Trail Athletic League final. Placed third overall as a junior at the Central Coast Section Championship and earned all-CCS all three years. Esteban placed 23rd and 24th at the CIF State Championship.

"We are going to look to Esteban take our program to the next level after the pandemic. He brings in two years of state championship experience and knows how to run at the front of a championship meet. His track bests put him in line to be all-american in his first cross country season and with the pandemic he's been able to build a better resume having run a solid 15:32 track 5k time trial in the fall. He will surely be much faster before we start racing in September."
