The Panthers battled through a thrilling softball doubleheader, edging American River College by one run in both games to secure a hard-fought sweep.
Game One: Panthers 4, American River 3
The Panthers struck first in game one when Michelle Wallace put the offense in motion, scoring Hannah Sanchez to get the Panthers on the board. Wallace wasn't done yet—she came through again in later innings, driving in Kalea De Leon. The Panthers added two more runs on passed balls to build their lead.
American River College attempted a late rally, but Mikayla Sanchez was dominant in the circle. Sanchez went the distance, shutting down the Beavers and sealing the win with seven strikeouts as the Panthers held on for a 4–3 victory.
Game Two: Panthers 5, American River 4
The Panthers once again scored first in the nightcap, as Kalea De León used her speed to circle the bases and score on passed balls. American River responded quickly, putting up three runs in the first inning to take the lead.
Down late, the Panthers mounted a clutch comeback in the fifth inning. The rally was sparked by Angelina Navarro, who crushed a momentum-shifting home run. Michelle Wallace followed with an RBI, scoring Malaya Carrillo, while Jessalyn Casillas delivered a key double that brought home Hannah Sanchez and Kalea De Leon.
In the circle, Katrina Longoria kept the Panthers within reach through five strong innings before turning the ball over to Malaya Carrillo, who shut the door in relief to close out the 5–4 win.
