Hartnell vs. Mission
Sophomore Night Success
Hartnell v. Mission
It was only fitting that on Sophomore Night the Panthers showed the same fight, toughness, and togetherness that this group has built their careers on, grinding out a hard-earned 70–66 victory over Mission College.
This one had the feel of a playoff game all night, physical, emotional, and possession by possession. Every run was answered. Every loose ball mattered. And when the moment got tight, the Panthers leaned on defense and unselfish play with 23 assists.
Mia Henson led the charge with 18 points, cooking offensively and knocking down big shots when the team needed them most. Her composure at the line sealed it, calmly sinking two clutch free throws late to put the game out of reach.
Bailey Cotter delivered a true "big dawg" performance with 14 points, battling through adversity and refusing to back down. Her toughness set the tone and earned her game-changing recognition on a night meant to celebrate the sophomores.
Yulissa Alvarez added 11 points and pure heart, competing through the flu and still giving everything she had for her teammates, a performance that perfectly defined sacrifice and commitment.
The stat sheet doesn't fully capture the impact of others:
Ana Maurer provided key offensive contributions and timely buckets with 2 blocked shots.
Sherrice Rogers controlled the glass with relentless rebounding bringing down 10 boards.
Alana Hernandez locked in defensively all game long with hard-nose pressure and grit.
And as always, the difference came from the collective. The bench energy, coaching staff, and every contributor helped push this group a victory.
Most importantly, Sophomore Night was about family. Thank you to all the friends, families, and supporters who packed the Panthers Den and celebrated these young women. Your presence means everything.
