Bio
Freshman Year: A member of the 2016 Coast Conference Championship team, Jocelyn enjoyed a solid first season with the Panthers. She finished 12th at the conference championship earning all-conference honors. Her time of 21:28 was a 36 second personal best on the Crystal Springs course. Jocelyn helped the Lady Panthers to a third place trophy finish at the Northern California Championship with her 37th place finish. Her finest race of the season was the CCCAA State Championship where she was the third Lady Panther across the line and first for freshman. She was the only freshman to break 21:00 on the Woodward Park course.
Prior to Hartnell: Jocelyn only ran the final eight weeks of her senior cross country season for Greenfield High School. In that short amount of time she did help the Lady Bruins by placing 23rd at the MTAL Championship. Jocelyn ran 22:04 at Toro Park and got post-season experience running at the CCS Championship at Crystal Springs in 22:08.
"Since day one Jocelyn has been one of our biggest surprises. She showed steady progress through her first cross country season culminating with the highest freshmen finish for us at the state championship. That leadership experience will be extremely important going into her second fall season. In track, she posted some excellent times and her 19:20 5000m is one of the best in Northern California heading into cross country. Jocelyn is big on heart and hardwork and I'm excited to see how much she surprises Northern CA and the state this fall."
